Put on the spot – there’s not a lot I get upset about
If I act distraught then it’s something to forget about
‘Cause I’m not used to a good thing
Nothing’s wrong but tell me what am I s’posed to do
Been waiting so long for you to drop the other shoe
I can’t complain, I can’t complain I can’t complain.
Courting disaster offers endless possibilities
Get what I’m after and get out before you get to me
‘Cause baby, I’m not your good thing
Knock on wood and tell me what am I s’posed to do
Wake the whole neighborhood ‘cause it’s too good to be true
I can’t complain, I can’t complain, I can’t complain.
I can’t complain, I can’t complain, I can’t com-
Plain to see it makes me nervous
I strain to speak but I'm left wordless
Worried that I don't deserve this
Hoping that you haven't heard this...
I’m ok but then I already knew
Even if I complained tell me what good would it do
I can’t complain, I can’t complain, I can’t complain.
I can’t complain, I can’t complain, I can’t complain.
I can’t complain, I can’t complain I can’t complain.

XTC had their moment in time...this recording extends it...Full of small, tight , quirky songs it juz rolls along. Recommended but maybe only for XTC fans.. cwhitney

If you're a huge fan of The Nines and have heard most of their other stuff, then this is a great listen. Lots of rarities and unheard material here. Not all of it is memorable, but that's the nature of these kind of albums. Ben Habegger

Don't believe the name of their latest album; jangle-pop hooks and stacked grunge guitars are two of the Bay Area band's greatest gifts. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 16, 2023
